It is looking very possible now that Katie Taylor may get the chance to unify the lightweight division at Madison Square Garden in June if all goes to plan.

Taylor currently holds the IBF and WBA lightweight belt and on March 15th she beat Brazilian Rose Volante for the WBO title in Philadelphia.

Taylor now only needs the WBC crown to complete her collection, which is currently held by Belgium boxer Delfine Persoon .

Taylor's manager Eddie Hearn revealed that he hopes to add Taylor to the undercard of the Anthony Joshua and Jarrell Miller in New York on June 1 and that he has held talks with Persoon's camp about the possibility of arranging a title bout and is close to confirming the fight.

Delfine Persoon was born in Gits, Belgium on January 14th, in 1985. In 2001 Persoon won a gold medal in Judo at the Cadets National Championships and followed that up with another gold medal the following year at the Junior National Championships. Even though she was excelling in Judo she decided to try her hand at boxing and made her professional boxing debut in 2009, and the switch is paying off. After 44 boxing matches, Person has a record of 43-1 with 17 knockouts and has won the WBC, and IBF world titles.

The fight between Taylor and Persoon is highly anticipated and has been talked about for many years, Katie Taylor recently stated that it will be her biggest challenge to date.
